At the beginning of her career Handler started out her profession as part of the Oxygen network all-female cast for the hidden camera/comedy reality show on TV called Girls Behaving Badly. It aired from 2002 until 2005. The handler was later employed in various other shows, including Weekends at D.L. The Bernie Mac Show My Wife and Kids, The Practice The Practice, and Weekends at D.L. Handler started working on The Tonight Show as a reporter. Handler made her breakthrough in 2006 when she started running her own talk show for E! The Chelsea Handler Program. The Chelsea Handler show ran for two years. Handler performed at the Comedy Central Hour Stand-Up Comedy Tour in the United States following the season. VH1, Comedy Central Premium Blend (and HBO) have been able to broadcast live stand-up shows. She was named as host of the MTV's 2010 MTV Video Music Awards in 2010. As a result, she was the only female host in history in the same category as Roseanne.
